It is nice posting in Tapatalk, but this isn't far behind. I think most everything is clean and easy to read.

Since you're starting new, I've had a thought for a long time on these threads that I've kept to myself...
Periodically you do an update of "where we stand" like Post #1 of this thread.
I've always thought it would make more sense to post "Status Post Updated" and you update the 1st post of the thread to reflect our current state, rather than running posts. That way if I wanted to quickly see what the latest status is, I just go to post #1, rather than having to hunt for the latest post with the list.
Am I crazy?

What you say makes perfect sense. I will start linking back to post #1, rather than moving the list to new posts. It ultimately should make the thread easier to navigate and less cluttered.

We were in contact a long time ago. I doubt we are seriously recruiting him, but it allows me to prolong my fantasy of David Cohn clone coming back.

So do you guys think we are more likely to get a big or a PG with our last 2019 scholly? Also, will it be a freshman or a transfer, and if a transfer, a grad transfer to play immediately or undergrad one who will sit a year?
It's really intriguing especially with so many eggs in the 2019-20 season basket. For me, I think we load up and take our best shot next year and do whatever we can to strengthen the team the next year as the primary focus while trying to obviously create sustained excellence as well.

Best available. I suspect that at this stage, they'll take what they can get with a preference towards a grad transfer that could contribute right away and wouldn't tie up a scholarship.

It seems like the recruiting flavor of the moment is speedy, athletic point guard. And, I can't disagree with this. I'm outspoken in other threads about my dissatisfaction with the point guard play and the inability to apply pressure on defenses by penetration. Speedy and athletic is ideal.
I agree though. They take best available between PG & big. If they don't get a high school commit or grad transfer they like, they eat the scholarship. I don't see them (or want them to) settle for a kid that they don't really want just to fill out the roster.

Agree completely, Mr J.
I’d love a speedy and athletic PG that could come in and have a dynamic impact. In a way, even though we are thin up front after Nate, Justin and VV graduate next year, I think it’s more important than a big though I’d still take the best possible player as you guys mention.
Luke is getting better, and will have a role, especially on D, but he really isn’t the answer to what we want to do on O. and with his height, I wonder if Thornton could become like an Oliver Tot type player down the road if we do get a really good impact PG as a freshman next year similar to Toews and the impact he is having at UNCW this year.
If we get a fast and speedy and skilled PG, imagine the transition game with Chase, Justin, LJ, Cameron, Nate, etc... flying up the court with him. Would love a UNC uptempo aspect to our offense.

I agree about the "best available", now. When I talked with the coaches a couple weeks ago, they were, from what I deduced, definitely looking to add a big with the last scholarship, to have some height ready when Nate, Andy and JP all graduate next year. Now, however, I get the feeling, with the rather apparent need for a quick, court savvy PG, that can score, that heads are beginning to turn slightly in that direction. As I understand it, there will be no saving of this schollie. They want that second player in the class.mrjoolius wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 9:33 pmIt seems like the recruiting flavor of the moment is speedy, athletic point guard. And, I can't disagree with this. Given the dip we’ve suffered with only one senior, I can understand not wanting to bring in only player this year.
